Glenn Smoot

 

Glenn Curtis Smoot, 43, died January 29, 2002 at his home in Frankfort, Kentucky.

 

Glenn was born October 5, 1958, in Columbia, Missouri.  Glenn Grew up in Eau Claire, moving here with his parents when he was eight years old.  He attended Boyd and Sherman grade schools and was a 1977 graduate of Memorial High School.  He was a member of the faculty at Kentucky State University in Frankfort.  He was previously employed by the National Park Service at Voyageurs National Park and at the Stearns County Historical Society in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

 

Glenn, a voracious reader beginning at age four, held a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Rosary College (now Dominican University) in River Forest Illinois.  He was a member of the Church of the Ascensions in Frankfort. 

 

Glenn is survived by his parents, Kenneth E. and Virginia B. Smoot, one brother, Frank L. Smoot, all of Eau Claire, and many relatives and friends across the country.
